Charlie Kelley received a Golden Anniversary Award from Gustavus in 2025.
He has worked in the financial industry since 1978, and founded Compass in 1988. At Compass, he is a member of the investment committee, which oversees the equity and fixed income portfolios. Prior to founding Compass, he was Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager with Norwest, now Wells Fargo, where he focused on managing portfolios for local non-profit organizations. He received a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Minnesota.
He currently serves on Gustavus’s investment committee for its endowment and is actively involved with the economic and management departments. He also serves on the investment committee of Project for Pride in Living.
The 50 Year Anniversary Award (Golden Anniversary Award) recognizes one graduate from the golden anniversary year for outstanding and exceptional career achievement.
Nominations for the 2026 50 Year (Golden Anniversary) Award and other alumni awards are welcome until Dec. 15, 2025.
