BEFORE THE SHOW Two Class of 1978 friends, Harley Hanson and Kurt Koefod, ran into Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Kurt Elling ’89 at a Minneapolis restaurant right before his show.
IN COLORADO SPRINGS Catherine Rodman ’05 and Mike Bryant ’86 networked at a law conference and learned they were both Gusties.

EN ROUTE TO PHOENIX Lori Schlaak Baertsch ’99 and her son, Andrew Baertsch ’26, boarded their plane and found President Bergman.
WHILE DOOR KNOCKING for her husband during his run for mayor of Orono (he won), retired professor and Vice President for MIssion, Strategy and Innovation Kathi Tunheim was delighted when former students Konnor Tranoris ’16, and Sabrina Vleck ’15 opened the door holding their new twins.

Scott Lichty ’70 and Linda Gilkey Lichty ’70 hosted the third annual gathering of the 1970 Eppies at their cabin on Lake Hubert in Nisswa. In August, some Gustie guys gathered at the home of Russell Swansen in Edina. About half of them lived on the third floor of Link (Gibbs) during the 1976–77 academic year. About half played on the Gustavus Rugby team. Many had not seen each other for 45 years, and some traveled from out of state to be there. Front: Steve Myhr ’79. Twelve Gusties gathered in Eagan at the wedding of Jeff Miller’s ’84 daughter, Lindsay, and Sally Johnson Flattum’s ’91 son, Spencer, in November.
